My name is Paul and I’ve been coming to Soundwaves for roughly 11 years.
I really enjoy coming because I get to do all my favourite things, I have a real passion for music and here I can sing, play instruments and even listen to music, also it’s great that Soundwaves can help me to improve my skills, I always have a fantastic time when I go.
I am also on the committee representing all the guys like me that attend making sure we are all well informed.
I really love feeling part of the team and very grateful for the staff that help out.
I am honoured to have been invited to Chair the Soundwaves management board, and hope that I can play a positive part in helping this magnificent organisation grow from strength to strength.
My background is mostly in music, education and youth work – as a performer, a teacher, a youth worker, and a music industry specialist. I have co-founded and developed several not-for-profit organisations in the south west over the past 15 years, including: CRAMP (Crediton Rural Arts & Music Project), Sound Gallery CIC, Mingle Music, and Music In Devon Initiative (CIC), each of which have helped young people to develop as creative musicians. The power of music to greatly enhance and transform individuals’ lives and communities never ceases to amaze me!
